Back in 2024, after both of us recently lost our spouses of nearly 30-years, a mutual friend (who had also recently lost his wife) invited us both to lunch. Bryan shared that he had started The Grief Recovery Method program and asked Jane if she was interested in joining him and becoming grief partners. In the beginning, it was about leaning on each other to survive and make it through the day. Bryan soon recognized that God had sent him the most incredible angel. One that shared prayers, scripture and songs reminding him of God’s love, comfort, and hope.
As we participated in the program together for several months, Bryan recognized what an amazing, incredible, smart and beautiful (on the inside and outside) person Jane was and let her know that he really would like to spend some time with her to get to know her better. Jane hyperventilated, but quickly recovered to say yes, with one condition: in no uncertain terms… this was NOT dating.
The more time we spent together, the more we realized how God brought us together and how much we enjoyed spending time together. It wasn’t too long before we realized we were having fun that we did not think would ever be possible to have again.
After an official “dress-up dinner” (that Jane still says was not a date), we started a relationship that God has continued to lead and bless. Together we began to enjoy life to its fullest through travel, and discover a new future together.
Bryan proposed to his Cinderella at Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World on October 18, 2025. Yes, he was able to surprise her!
We are so grateful and blessed by all of the people who have supported us along the way and can’t wait to celebrate our new forever life together in marriage with you.
And there’s more to God’s plan. A little more than a year ago, we learned that Jane’s son Trey needed a new kidney. Bryan, along with other friends and family, volunteered to be evaluated as a living donor at The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. After God’s leading through many twists and turns, The Mayo Clinic determined that Bryan was not only a viable candidate to be a kidney donor, but he also was a great match for a direct transplant to Trey. The transplant took place on June 16. Both Bryan and Trey are doing amazingly well.
We are so grateful and blessed by all the prayers and support that we have received along the way and can’t wait to celebrate our new Happily Ever After with you.
